Philips, the world renowned global lightening leader has given an impressive lightening makeover to one of the world’s renowned Nigerian arts gem, the Nigerian Arts Theatre. The dazzling makeover given by the global lightening giant has not only given a stunning makeover to enhance the ambience of the Nigerian National Arts Theatre in Lagos but has also help cutting down about 80% of the energy consumption for the lightening as compared to the conventional methods used earlier.

As a part of its pan-Africa road show- Cairo to Cape Town, the city of Lagos is the fifth stop on yearly road show. Giving a spectacular makeover, the Philips has replaced the lightening system with a range of stylish, energy saver RGB (red, green, blue) LED luminaries for a splendid illumination and at the same time cutting down the energy consumption. With a remarkable 80% reduction in the energy consumption, the latest range of RGB LED Luminaries have provided an extraordinary facelift to give a significant look to the Lagos skyline.

Speaking of the successful makeover, Abdallah Hussein, CEO, Philips West Africa said, “The spectacular lighting of Nigerian National Arts Theatre demonstrates the incredible advances that are being made in the efficiency and beauty of LED illumination”. Located at Iganmu, in the heart of Lagos, the National Arts Theatre attracts thousands of visitors from around the world and the multipurpose National Theatre spreading over 23,000 square meters area is a cultural landmark promoting the art and culture of Nigeria.

Using 30 LED white light projectors, 48 LED luminaries combining blue, green and red the fine Architectural masterpiece has been given a makeover to strengthen improved energy performance in public areas using LED lightening solutions.

The road shows will take place in seven African countries including 10 cities and focus to emphasis on the main challenges like health care infrastructure and energy efficient lightening- the major challenges faced by the African countries. The next stop of the road show will be Accra, Ghanna.
